Breeding and tending the herd

Enable breeding on an adult female when you want one pregnancy. She needs a healthy adult male of the same species at the same Milking station, with both animals close together in its grazing area. Keep food and water in reach and enable Farming so a settler can do the work.

A pregnancy reserves room for the young animal and switches breeding off. Cancelling breeding does not end a pregnancy already under way. Birth waits if there is no safe place beside the mother. The young animal keeps its parents in its record and must grow up before producing.

Tending an injured animal uses two water and one salt. It still needs food, water and a safe temperature to recover. Current colonies also allow slower recovery without tending when those needs are met. Fire or deep water prevents this recovery.
