Stockpiles and hauling

In current colonies, a stockpile is a zone marked on open, dry ground. It needs no building work or materials. Each tile holds one kind of good at a time. Keep space for different goods even when an existing pile has room for more of its own kind.

A stockpile has one name, priority and set of accepted goods. Its contents count tiles already occupied or promised to incoming hauls. Use the stockpile’s controls to expand or shrink it, and check its filters when goods are waiting on the ground.

Production and construction need supplies they can actually collect. A workshop’s supply links can narrow the sources an order may use. An order with its own source list uses only the overlap. A full store elsewhere does not help if the permitted sources are empty or cut off.

Caravan purchases arrive at camp as loose goods and wait for hauling. Selling uses matching goods already in reachable storage. Goods still on the ground, carried by a settler or ageing in a batch cannot be sold through that offer.
