Hiring and directing Adventure workers

Adventure has six human worker roles and two marble golem roles. Choose them from Production in the Build menu. Ordinary gathering workers, the Crop-Tender and the Cleaner are known from the start. Learn the Marble Golem blueprint to reveal both golem roles. These hires are not available in The Wilds.

Make room before hiring

You start with space for two workers. Each Farm adds three places, and Hearth & Hands can add more. Every worker uses a place, including a golem. Hiring more workers of the same role raises that role's Wood, Stone, Gold and Crystal price by 25% of its cost before this worker-count increase for each one already employed. Named ingredients keep their quantities. Check the displayed price before you hire.

Give gatherers a route

Woodcutters and Hewer Golems fell trees. Quarrymen and Quarrier Golems break rocks. Prospectors work gold deposits, and Crystalwrights work crystal deposits. They gain the listed harvest only when the target finally breaks. A cottage anchors a gatherer's work area. Without one, the homestead base is the anchor. The search starts at 50 horizontal and vertical steps and can widen to 125 when work runs out. Walls and blocked routes can still leave a worker idle.

Assign a service chest

Right-click a storage chest and choose Assign for a Crop-Tender or Cleaner within 40 tiles, including diagonals. Their work area extends 14 tiles from that chest, also including diagonals. The Crop-Tender harvests ready farm plots before planting empty ones, using seeds from the chest. It does not water plots. The Cleaner carries loose items into the chest, including items inside painted stockpiles. A full chest leaves overflow in the worker's hands and causes a 30-turn pause before another attempt.

Hours and care

Meals, wages, rest and morale affect human workers. Read the feeding and wages guide when a worker stops. Right-click an adjacent worker to change Schedule between Day shift, Night shift and Flex. Inspect and View biography explain a human worker's condition and history. The Crew Roster lists your workers and helps you find them. Golems need no wages, meals, cottage, fatigue recovery or morale care, but still go dormant in their scheduled rest hours and pause every fourth harvest swing.
