Nine Day Reserve
Commit a qualifying pressed cheese for 12 Reserve Marks.
| Where to choose | Open the Homestead Ledger and choose Reserve Cellar. Choose a term, then a qualifying wheel carried in the pack. |
|---|---|
| Work required | 18,000 ageing turns, or 9 game days when dues are met. Ordinary progress is checked at 25-turn world-clock intervals, so readiness can wait for the next check. |
| First stake | 4,500 gold when no wheel has previously been laid. Later stakes rise with your lifetime number of wheels laid, across all three terms. |
| Later stakes | Each previous wheel multiplies the next base stake by 1.15, up to 10 times the base stake. The result is rounded to whole gold. Collecting a reserve does not reset this count. |
| Dues | 90 gold per 500 turns for this term’s first, undiscounted stake. Dues use 2% of the stake actually paid, with Cooper’s Art reducing that rate before rounding. Each niche has its own bill. |
| Reserve Marks | 12 on collection. Collection records them as both spendable and earned Reserve Marks. |
| Finished cheese committed | A finished input wheel is kept by the cellar. Collecting this term does not return that finished wheel. |
| Ripening cheese committed | A qualifying ripening wheel is returned on collection. It ripens at normal speed during paid cellar checks. With ordinary 25-turn checks, the final check can add up to 24 ageing turns beyond the term’s required work. If still unripe, it returns with its remaining ageing time. |
| Grand Reserve extra | Adds a personalised Reserve title and 1 Reserve token. The title is not an inventory trophy wheel. The token can pay a retainer’s hiring fee, while their wages still apply. |
| When dues cannot be paid | The niche can stall without losing the wheel. Existing unpaid bills remain due. Paying later lets new work resume once the bill is covered, but does not restore work missed during the shortage. |
| After the term | A ready niche stops owing dues. It still occupies its niche until you collect it. Collection frees that niche. |
| Choosing the input | The term’s stake, duration and Reserve Marks do not scale with the wheel’s quality or tier. Protect refuses the wheel. Retain alone allows this commitment. |
