Named cheeses and quality

Ordinary named cheeses can finish ageing in your pack. A home cheese cave speeds up their ageing. Season Wheels and custom war cheese follow different rules, so check which kind you are making.

For cheese made at a press, milk quality and culture rarity contribute to quality. Your Affineur rank adds another bonus. Standard, Fine, Superior and Masterwork are quality grades, separate from the recipe’s tier.

Affineur rank counts cheeses crafted. Apprentice starts at 5, Journeyman at 15, Artisan at 30, Master at 50 and Grand Affineur at 100. Higher ranks can improve quality, home-cave ageing speed and culture propagation.
