Planning and building
Open Plan, choose what to build, then mark its position on the map. Press Build to give the order. Keep leaves a draft on the map for later. A kept plan has no construction order yet.
A building can remain planned while materials are missing. Once a builder can reach the supplies and site, they reserve what the job needs. If the materials are stored but the plan says they cannot reach it, check the route from storage and the settler’s Area.
Beds, doors and workstations are placed one at a time. Walls, floors, roofs, rails, gardens and stockpiles support painted runs or areas. Floors can share a planned tile with a furnishing, so you can floor a room before every bed is finished.
Older colonies without construction plans use immediate placement. Selecting the tool shows its cost, and marking the map gives the order and reserves available materials. Those colonies can refuse a building for missing supplies.
