Hungry
Hungry is the blood state at 20 blood or more, below 50.
| Blood range | At least 20 and below 50 blood. |
|---|---|
| Damage contribution | 0 damage in your combined combat attributes. The permanent base damage gained when becoming a vampire is separate. |
| Night movement | This blood state gives no vampire night movement bonus. |
| Blood from a melee bite | 2 blood per struck creature whose blood you can drink. A chained second hit can also feed you. Restoration stops at maximum blood. |
| Other melee targets | A swing that strikes only Bloodless creatures costs 2 blood. A creature with blood that you cannot drink gives no blood and does not cause this cost. A mixed swing that feeds from a target uses the feeding gain. |
| Entering Bat Form | The blood gate allows entry. Nearby visible foes and the other Bat Form restrictions still apply. Existing Bat Form ends at 10 blood or less. |
| Charming guards | A guard requires Gorged blood and at least 30 potency. Other Charm targets keep their usual checks and 15 blood cost. |
| Trader reactions | The appearance-based trade refusal for Starving vampires does not apply to this blood state. Other trade and hostility restrictions still apply. |
| Appearance comments | People can comment on your pallor or hunger when the conversation reaches its appearance line. Earlier memory, mood and other dialogue can take priority. |
| An empty blood meter | In solo play, at 0 blood the vampire turn loses 1 health every 15 world turns. Rest, passive Terroir healing, regeneration buffs and Well Fed healing cannot restore health while the blood meter is empty. Simply being in the Starving state with blood remaining does not trigger these empty-meter penalties. |
| Clock in co-op | Scheduled vampire effects are checked when your own body receives its turn update. The idle-player pass skips vampires, so a partner’s turn does not replay these effects for you or make up a missed check. |
| Automatic blood drinking | In solo play, enabling automatic eating and drinking can use eligible common blood drinks below 50 blood. It looks in the backpack before the Quick Bar and respects automatic-use protection. It does not automatically spend an uncommon Blood Vial. |
