Turns and melee

When playing Adventure alone, an ordinary attack or Wait advances the world by one turn. Speed makes ground movement cheaper. At speed 2, for example, two ordinary steps take one world turn. It does not let you make two attacks in that turn.

Move into an adjacent enemy to swing your melee weapon. You stay on your current tile while attacking. Walking into your own summons does not attack them, and calm, docile wildlife is protected from ordinary bump attacks.

A reach weapon can strike an enemy two tiles away if you have line of sight. By default, moving directly towards a visible enemy at that distance swings instead of stepping closer. The tile between you must be clear and passable. You can turn this behaviour off in Gameplay settings.
