Spell Mastery and Affinage Arts
Spell Mastery counts qualifying casts. Adept takes 10, Expert takes 40 and Master takes 80. The count belongs to the spell, so another wheel of the same named spell uses the same progress.
A cast counts when it hits an eligible enemy, or when one is close enough to satisfy the mastery check. Healing also counts outside combat if it restores health to someone who had half their maximum health or less. Training dummies and peaceful animals do not count as enemies for this check.
Custom wheels share mastery within their spell family. Support wheels use a separate family record from attacking wheels. Changing a custom wheel’s ingredients does not create a fresh mastery track for every recipe.
Each mastery tier earns one Insight. Spend Insights on Affinage Arts. An Art may need an earlier Art before you can learn it. Once you know every Art, each 3 spare Insights can become a perk reroll token.
Mastery choices, shrine changes and Affinage Arts all affect your cast. The game applies them in that order, so the final wheel can differ from its base recipe.
