Sailing and the ship hold

Wind changes the speed of boats with sails. A tailwind adds one to the boat's speed and a headwind subtracts one, with a minimum speed of one. Rafts receive no wind bonus. In calm weather, the wind display shows that no heading will help.

Steer a raft or skiff yourself. On a ship with a deck, set your course from the helm. Overland automatic travel is unavailable while sailing. You can open the world map from a ship's deck or hold to see the hull's position.

The hold takes furniture, storage, lighting and decoration on clear planking. Beds, stoves, chests and bookshelves are allowed. Farms, wells, barns and forges belong ashore. The build checks still require an empty place and the materials for the piece.
