Rare creatures and world bosses

Finding another sighting

Mythic sightings belong to full Adventure. The ordinary sighting route does not run in The Wilds, the demo or the protected starting region. A sighting needs both its home territory and its local biome or water conditions. Old Brine can appear while you sail or swim on ocean water. A new spawn of a mythic kind is blocked while that kind is still present and for 2000 turns after its last spawn. The cooldown starts when it appears in the world, even if you never see it.

Departure timers

The White Hart, Salt Wyrm and drifting sightings count their own actions before disappearing. Speed can make that timer advance more than once in a turn. The Moon Hare, Frost Ewe and Ember Auroch use a different timer. Once met, they can leave after you spend enough world turns both beyond their nearby range and unable to see them. Coming near or seeing them resets that absence timer. They settle when you reach an adjacent tile.

Offering food

The Moon Hare accepts a Moonring Mushroom, the Frost Ewe a Frost Morel and the Ember Auroch an Ember Chanterelle. Carry the exact offering in your backpack and use Befriend from within 5 tiles. The offer consumes one item and makes the creature owned livestock that follows you. There is no taming roll. This offer can spend a Protected copy, so Protect does not reserve an offering here. Whistle taming is a separate action with different rules.

Returning to a world boss

The Hollow Hart, Cinder-King and Gravewalker each have a world-generated roaming circuit in full Adventure. Their positions continue to advance while they are away. Leaving a fight preserves the boss's remaining health. Returning does not restore it to full health. Once defeated, a boss stops returning through its ordinary world-boss route. The unique trophy is delivered with the killing character's rewards.
