Player afflictions
Player debuffs have their own rules. Blistered on the player and Blistered on an enemy creature use different tick damage. Read the player debuff page when checking what an effect does to you.
Cleansing
Standard cleansing removes Poison, Sickness, Slowed and Corroded. Sapped, Blistered, Drunk and Cursed Sight are outside that cleanse list.
Poison and Sickness
Poison and Sickness each start at 1 health lost every 5 turns, stopping at 1 health. Poison resistance affects poison ticks. Status resistance affects sickness ticks. Resistance carries fractional prevention across ticks so it can skip some small ticks.
Blistered
Player Blistered starts at 1 health lost every 2 turns before fire resistance, stopping at 1 health. Being Blistered also increases a later dragonfire breath hit by 50%. Fire resistance and the Pickled fire choice protect against its burn ticks.
Anti-healing effects
Sapped reduces ordinary melee lifesteal by 60%, rounding the result to the nearest whole point. Passive Terroir healing is halved and rounded down. Some enemies have a separate heal-block aura that prevents those two kinds of healing while you remain close to a living source. Ranged lifesteal follows a separate rule and bypasses both penalties.
