Dragon breeds and Nadirath aspects

Ordinary dragon colours

A named Dragon Lair boss rolls one of six breeds: Ember, Verdant, Azure, Obsidian, Golden or Storm. The lair seed fixes its proper name and breed. All six use the ordinary Fire Dragon attack kit, take 75% of the otherwise applicable Heat spell damage and 150% of Cold spell damage, and are immune to Melted and Blistered. An Azure dragon does not gain cold immunity from its colour. The Deepheart finale keeps its authored identity.

Breed treasure

Golden dragons multiply the scaled ordinary dragon gold by 2.2 before later gold bonuses. Other breeds keep the ordinary amount. Each breed also names a trophy: Brimstone Rind for Ember, Dragon Reserve for Verdant and Azure, Dragon Heart for Obsidian and Storm, or Founder's Dragonblood for Golden. The named-breed trophy is separate from other dragon rewards. Your killing hit also rolls the breed's extra material table. Other ways a boss dies can use a different reward path, so the breed page qualifies those material drops.

The raid wyrm changes its element

Nadirath waits in the final arena of the Plane of Heroes descent. The arena seed rolls one of three equally likely aspects. Molten breath applies Blistered, Rimebound breath applies Slowed, and Venomous breath applies Poison. Both the sweep and jet use the chosen aspect. These are changes to the raid wyrm, rather than ordinary lair colour changes.

Read the aspect before attacking

Molten takes 10% of Heat spell damage and 150% of Cold. Rimebound takes 10% of Cold and 150% of Heat. Venomous takes 10% of Rot and 125% of Heat. Molten is immune to Melted and Blistered, Rimebound to Frozen and Deep Frozen, and Venomous to Curdled and Putrefied. Each aspect also resists 90% of its matching fire, cold or poison bonus damage share on a weapon hit. That resistance applies to the matching bonus share, rather than 90% of the whole weapon hit.

Raid tiers strengthen abilities

The raid tier separately raises Nadirath's sweep, jet, scratch and tail damage. Ordinary lair dragons keep their authored ability damage before other combat effects. Use the special attacks guide for the ordinary kit's reach, timing and defence rules.
