Crime and witnesses
Walls and distance affect whether a faction member witnesses a killing. The game looks from the victim to possible witnesses, so shooting from a hidden position does not make a public killing invisible.
An unwitnessed killing can still cost standing later. Someone from the victim's faction may find the body, or a settlement may notice that one of its people is missing. The later penalty is smaller than the immediate witnessed penalty.
A fence buys stolen goods and refuses clean goods. The price starts at 60 percent of the ordinary general-store selling price, rounded down. Goods with a positive ordinary selling price fetch at least one gold. Worthless goods remain worthless.
