Building in a town

Outside your home-camp clearing, Friendly standing allows ordinary walls on open ground, farm plots, fences and several kinds of furniture. Indoor furniture needs a permitted interior. Higher standing opens more choices and placement areas.

Some buildings remain barred inside settlements at every standing, except in your home-camp clearing. These include cheese vats, presses, caves, yogurt barrels, barns and troughs, along with production buildings and military recruitment. The clearing does not let you build over protected town infrastructure, including the town's waystone and market stone. You cannot demolish these town-owned stones.

Outside your home-camp clearing, a town limits your structures according to standing: 30 at Friendly, 120 at Honored, 300 at Revered and 600 at Exalted. Floors have a separate allowance. The permission check applies to the tile where you build, even if you are standing outside the boundary.
