Train
| Mode | Fortress with squads. Squads require the forge and armoury and Direct defense. |
|---|---|
| Map selection | The Train button needs no marked point. An optional training anchor can also be recorded. |
| What it does | Uses training dummies or archery butts where suitable ones exist. Otherwise trains in place. It fights eligible nearby raiders before practising. |
| Combat and training | Training at suitable furniture gives 1 combat experience per in-game hour, up to 140 experience, combat level 6. Training in place gives 1 every 2 hours, capped at 100, level 5. Practice does not spend ammunition. An archery butt needs a bow, crossbow or sling. |
| When it applies | A standing order is active while the squad is drafted or scheduled for duty. Stand down explicitly cancels active duty. Soldiers away on a march or expedition do not receive a home squad order. |
| Squad limits | Up to 6 squads with up to 8 living home settlers in each. A settler cannot join two squads. The membership roll can retain a soldier who later travels away. |
| Gear collection | Members normally fetch uniform pieces and ammunition while off duty or assigned to Train. A non-drafted trainee fetching gear can temporarily have no member defence order. No equipment is created by an order. |
| Needs | Ordinary urgent needs, exhaustion and care still matter. A squad order is separate from a promise that every member can act right now. |
