Station
| Mode | Fortress with squads. Squads require the forge and armoury and Direct defense. |
|---|---|
| Map selection | One explored walkable anchor. |
| What it does | Assigns nearby formation posts. Soldiers hold those posts and use them as the centre for selecting raiders within their weapon range. They do not chase a distant target. |
| Combat and training | An eligible target can be struck while the soldier is still travelling to the post. The actual hit needs weapon reach and line of sight. A wall or shut gate can block a shot. |
| When it applies | A standing order is active while the squad is drafted or scheduled for duty. Stand down explicitly cancels active duty. Soldiers away on a march or expedition do not receive a home squad order. |
| Squad limits | Up to 6 squads with up to 8 living home settlers in each. A settler cannot join two squads. The membership roll can retain a soldier who later travels away. |
| Gear collection | Members normally fetch uniform pieces and ammunition while off duty or assigned to Train. A non-drafted trainee fetching gear can temporarily have no member defence order. No equipment is created by an order. |
| Needs | Ordinary urgent needs, exhaustion and care still matter. A squad order is separate from a promise that every member can act right now. |
