Attack target
| Mode | Fortress with squads. Squads require the forge and armoury and Direct defense. |
|---|---|
| Map selection | One currently attackable enemy or animal on the map. |
| What it does | Pursues that named target. Soldiers can attack wild game and creatures at their lairs as well as raiders. When the target is gone, the squad changes to Station at its first living home member, or stands down if none is available. |
| Combat and training | This order pursues the chosen target rather than selecting every raider around a rally point. |
| When it applies | A standing order is active while the squad is drafted or scheduled for duty. Stand down explicitly cancels active duty. Soldiers away on a march or expedition do not receive a home squad order. |
| Squad limits | Up to 6 squads with up to 8 living home settlers in each. A settler cannot join two squads. The membership roll can retain a soldier who later travels away. |
| Gear collection | Members normally fetch uniform pieces and ammunition while off duty or assigned to Train. A non-drafted trainee fetching gear can temporarily have no member defence order. No equipment is created by an order. |
| Needs | Ordinary urgent needs, exhaustion and care still matter. A squad order is separate from a promise that every member can act right now. |
