Example: The person who heard the newsAn entry in a settler’s life story. The event records what happened, while memories and current circumstances govern lasting feelings.

| When recorded | A settler who knows of a death tells someone who does not know, while the news is still being passed on. |
| What it means | Both must be awake and within two walkable cardinal steps on the same level. The hearer gains a loss memory linked to the original death. |
| Reading the event | Open Settlers, select the person and open Life. Why follows a recorded cause. What followed shows events directly linked to it. The entry can also appear in the lives of the other people involved or recorded as witnesses. |
