Hold position
| Mode | Fortress with Direct defense. |
|---|---|
| What it does | Moves to one chosen post and holds it. The post is the centre for selecting raiders, using the current weapon range. It does not chase them. It can strike an eligible target from its current tile while still travelling to the post. |
| Where you can order it | One explored walkable tile. |
| Selection limit | Select 1 to 32 living defenders, without duplicates. At most 32 individual defence orders can be active through this command. Squad members take orders from Military. |
| Civilian settings | Orders ignore civilian labour priorities and Areas, while preserving those settings. They grant no equipment. |
| Needs and care | Hunger, thirst, exhaustion, incapacity and active treatment can interrupt the order. An order can remain recorded while its owner receives care. |
| Blocked routes | An accepted order with no route stays blocked and retries after 4 in-game hours. Clearing the route does not instantly move the settler while time is paused. |
| Standing down | Cancels the direct order and returns the settler to care, Areas and timetable. Their militia-duty setting remains. |
