Adds tension and works towards landing the fish. Progress depends on the fish phase.

| Fishing skill effect on action tension | Subtract 0.1 tension for each fishing level. |
| Other tension changes | The fish phase changes tension as well, scaled by fish difficulty. The combined result is rounded and kept between 0 and 100. |
