Tender
An Adventure soldier who heals a wounded soldier instead of attacking. The Tender can heal itself, but cannot heal the player.
| Mode | Adventure. These recruits are not available in The Wilds. |
|---|---|
| Learning the recruit | Learn the Tender blueprint to reveal this choice in the Build menu. |
| Base recruitment cost | 8 Wood, 59 Gold, 7 Crystal |
| Party capacity | Shares the maximum of 3 hired soldiers. Companions use their own separate limit. |
| Level 1 health | 8 |
| Level 1 healing | 4 |
| Reach | 2 horizontal and vertical steps to the nearest occupied cell of the target |
| At player level 10 when hired | 17 health and 8 healing, before gear and other bonuses |
| Hire scaling | Starts at your current level. Each level above 1 adds 12% of base health and 10% of base damage or healing, rounded to whole numbers. Reach, blast size and attack cooldown do not scale. |
| Target choice | Heals the living soldier in reach with the most missing health, including itself. Cannot heal the player. |
| Weapon it can use | A staff |
| Equipment slots | One weapon and one piece of body armour. Weapon damage adds to the attack, or to the Tender's healing. Only the weapon damage and body armour points count. Other equipment bonuses do not apply. |
| Growth after hiring | Learns from credited kills within 15 tiles, including diagonals, in the same realm. Cannot level above its owner. A level-up preserves its health proportion, with whole-number rounding. |
| Orders | Right-click it for Follow Me, Stay Here or Go Home. Give Weapon and Give Armour move real items out of your pack. Orders and gear changes are free. |
| Defeat | A slain soldier is removed permanently. Equipment it carried drops where it fell. |
| Appearance | The picture shows the Build menu example. Individual soldiers can have different skin and equipment colours. |
