Bat Form
| Requires | Vampirism |
|---|---|
| Turn cost | Uses a full turn |
| Effect | Travel as a bat with reduced vision and faster blood loss |
| Base speed | 3 |
| Base vision radius | 3 tiles before other vision bonuses and the final view-radius calculation. |
| Cannot enter | While Starving or with a visible hostile within 2 tiles, including diagonals. |
| Automatic return to human form | At 10 blood or less |
| Blood upkeep | In solo play, Bat Form adds 1 blood loss every 10 world turns, or every 20 at potency 60 or higher. Normal blood drain and sunlight drain can apply as well. In co-op these scheduled effects are checked on your own vampire turn updates. A partner’s turn skips the idle vampire update and missed checks do not catch up later. |
| Confinement control caveat | The Bat Form hotkey is blocked while you are held in a cell. The current Abilities menu can still allow the change through its separate route. |
Travelling in Bat Form
Open Abilities and choose Bat Form, or use your bound Bat Form control. Use it again to return to your usual form. Each successful change spends a full turn. Entering Bat Form ends an active sneak crouch. The bat has its own visibility reduction, so it does not need crouching to gain that effect.
Your transformed figure
While the character you control is in Bat Form and is not downed, the map shows the bat figure. A downed character uses a prone version of their usual figure instead. The image shown here is the transformed figure without its separate glow.
