Loot filters
Settings, then Loot controls what you pick up automatically. The default filter usually leaves Common gear and fishing junk behind, and keeps two pack slots free. A skipped item stays on the ground. Choose Pick Up from its menu to take it anyway, provided you have room. Picking it up this way spends a turn.
Collect Gear sets the minimum rarity for equipment. Tools, recovered thrown weapons, gear that fills an empty equipment slot, and Epic or better gear bypass that rarity filter. War cheese, cultures, books, blueprints, ammunition, money and quest items also ignore the ordinary pickup filters. Edible cheese uses Collect Food & Drink.
Keep Pack Slots Free only stops filtered categories from opening new pack slots once you reach the reserve. Items that fit an existing compatible stack can still be collected, as long as their category is enabled. Gear and the items that ignore filters are not held back by the reserve.
Items You Drop controls your own discarded items. Keep at home preserves them near your home campfire or on a stockpile zone. Keep everywhere preserves them wherever you leave them. This setting does not preserve every uncollected world drop. Ordinary drops can still decay, though quest items and other protected items have their own exemptions.
Saw Felled Trees Into Planks converts species logs from trees you cut down straight into planks. It does not convert logs collected from the ground, bought or found elsewhere. Leave it off when you want to keep particular woods for building.
