Saw someone drown
A retained Fortress memory. The figures below are base contributions before personal strength, nature, other memories and the social caps.
| Mode | Fortress with relationships and memories enabled. Some memories also require their own colony systems. |
|---|---|
| Base morale contribution | −5 |
| Base contribution to memory work pace | −3% |
| Base duration | 3 in-game days. Cheerful lengthens good memories and Gloomy lengthens bad memories by half. |
| How it is recorded | Another settler drowns within 8 tiles, including diagonals, on the same level. This fluid check requires the witness to be living and at home. It does not check wakefulness or line of sight. |
| Names another settler | This kind uses no individual subject. A different description does not create another copy of the same kind. |
| Routine history | Can be written or attached to a notable life-story event when life stories are kept. |
| Retention | At most 8 memories remain active. The same kind and subject cannot refresh again within one day. A refresh replaces the old copy. Capacity can discard the weakest current morale effect, with the oldest removed first on equal strength. |
